The argument for cashmere this season is about make rather than logo. COS built its autumn collection around double-sided cashmere, and editors picking apart what makes a plain outfit look expensive landed on the same idea: cotton, crisp poplin, linen and double-washed cashmere, cut precisely and left alone. No print, no hardware, nothing to date it. The appeal is that one good knit carries an outfit that owns nothing else remarkable.
