Tailoring is being unhooked from the dress code. Eckhaus Latta cut trousers, shirting and separates loose through the body for spring; menswear editors now describe the suit as something to break apart and wear in pieces rather than as a set. The details are consistent: softer shoulders, fuller trousers, a jacket that works over a T-shirt. It is the opposite of the tight, short-jacket decade that came before, and it is why tailoring is turning up outside offices.
