After several seasons of muted neutrals, solid colours are being deliberately clashed again. The approach is not a single accent against a plain outfit but two or more saturated shades set directly against each other, often combinations that should not work on paper. Runways showed solid skirts under sequined tops in a different colour, and the practice has moved into street style. The interest lies in stretching what counts as matching rather than in the colours themselves.
