Corduroy is being used as trim as much as cloth. Barbour edges its waxed cotton jacket with it, Mango sets a corduroy collar on a denim parka, and Aries put acid-washed corduroy at the centre of a collection built on deliberately degraded luxury materials. Used that way the rib adds texture without committing a whole outfit to the seventies, which is what sank the fabric's last revival.
