The corset has moved from costume to construction. Grace Ling cut a corseted mini dress from traditionally masculine suiting fabric, using the shape to argue that femininity and masculinity are not opposites. Kim Shui set corseted bodices against sheer lace cutouts and ceremonial brocade. In both cases the boning is structural rather than decorative, holding the garment up on its own, which is what separates this run from the lace-corset-over-jeans version of a few years ago.
