After years of washed, distressed and baggy denim, the dark rinse is back in favour. On the runway Elsa Hosk revived the trend at Khaite in a croc jacket over indigo jeans; in menswear the advice is blunter, that dark wash in a straight, athletic or slim-but-not-tight fit will always be in style. The appeal is the same in both readings: a dark jean reads closer to a trouser, which is what lets it work with a blazer or a good pair of boots.
