A closure, not a garment. The frog fastening is a looped cord and knot used in place of buttons, borrowed from Chinese dress and from military uniforms. Editors called the clasps one of autumn's favourite details after Zara put them on a satin jacket, and they turn up again on a hooded faux-fur vest. The appeal is that they change the front of a plain piece completely while costing nothing in fit or comfort.
