The collar that stands up around the neck without a hood, cut close enough to close the gap a scarf usually fills. It was already a fixture of last year's outerwear and has extended its run rather than fading. This season it is being treated more decoratively: a bright red version at Balenciaga, a fur-and-wool hybrid at Altuzarra, and lightweight anorak versions that behave more like a shirt than a jacket. It also defines the anorak silhouette outright.
